KARACHI: Lahore Qalandars' all-rounder Liam Dawson suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's contest against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Cricket Arena.
As confirmed by his franchise, Dawson has now been ruled out of the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8. The Qalandars will be looking for a replacement player as a result of the setback.
Dawson, while representing Qalandars against Kings, bagged a wicket and scored only a run as Qalandars suffered a defeat by 67 runs.
However, the English cricketer enjoyed playing in front of electrifying Karachi crowd.
Speaking to the media after the match, Qalandars' Dawson said it was an exciting contest overall.
"It felt amazing to play this contest in front of an electrifying crowd. I enjoyed this match and looking forward to such a crowd in the upcoming matches too," he said.
While talking about Qalandars' performance, Dawson said their batting wasn't up to the mark.
"We didn't perform in batting. Karachi was too good with the bat and they put up a good total on the scoreboard," he highlighted.
Meanwhile, Dawson also gave credit to his captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.
"Our bowlers gave their hundred percent in the match. Especially, Shaheen and Haris. They both led the bowling from the front," he concluded.
